Termly Greetings
A very happy New Year to you all - we sincerely hope you all had a wonderful Christmas & are fully rested for another jam packed year - It's Show Year!!! May we take this opportunity to thank you all for our many cards & gifts we received.
Termly News
Miss. Sarah will be starting her maternity leave in the next couple of weeks as the new baby is due to arrive at the end of this month. She hopes not to be away for too long but obviously all her classes will covered by other teachers - we hope the students will continue to dance as beautifully for them as they do for Miss. Sarah.
Many thanks to all those who donated to the "Children's Trust Christmas Cracker" fund raiser at the end of last term - we managed to raise £160 - so well done you!!!
Jaye Elster (Miss. Laura's sister) will be appearing in "Singing in the Rain" in the West End from February 2012 for a whole year - I would like to arrange a coach/ tickets to go & see her - if you are interested please let me know so I have an idea of numbers - will let you know dates once she starts the run!
Congratulations to Sara Southey & Elodie Guyon for their great performances in "Sleeping Beauty" at the Harlequin Theatre, Redhill. Also Sam Smith & Lauren Price who appeared as dwarves in the Dorking Halls "Snow White & Seven Dwarves". Also Jess Stevens & Cloe Guyon for their numerous performances with the "West End Kids" over the Christmas Holidays - we are so very proud of you all - well done!!
Fees
All fees are requested in advance please by either:
FULL TERM - CASH OR CHEQUE
HALF TERM - CASH ONLY
- Cheques will only be accepted on a half term basis if you have more than one child in the school.
- Half term payment will not be accepted after the SECOND WEEK of term.
- A 10% discount on full term fees will be given to parents with two children in the school.
- A 15% discount on full term fees will be given to parents with more than two children in the school.
- As of January 2009 any fees paid later than the second week of term will have 10% of the total bill added every week until the account is settled.
- Obviously if you speak to me personally about your circumstances we can come to some arrangement.
- As of January 2010 there will be a late payment charge of £15.00 for babies & rosettes who have not pre-paid & reserved their space by the end of the previous term. Fees for these classes should be paid in advance before all holiday breaks.
Exams
Thank you to all those who took exams on Saturday 10th & Sunday 11th December - we have yet to receive the results however, we do know that Vicky Harper & Emily Cotter have been nominated for an IDTA scholarship as they have received 90+ for their Grade 6 ballet - go girls! & go Miss. Elaine for teaching them!!!
Our next exam session will hopefully be on Sunday 25th March - this will just be one day for mainly pre-juveniles & rosettes & any catch ups from the December exams. Please ensure you check the website regularly - up until the day before your exam date as the time-table changes frequently.
Show
It's "ShowTime" folks - hopefully by now you have paid your levies & costume deposits & you should have also received your costume sheets & order forms. Please ensure all orders & payments are in by the end of this term.
The Choreography Competition will be on Sunday 5th February at the Elmcroft Centre, 570 London Road, North Cheam SM3 9AB. 2.00-5.00pm - please ask for your entry form which needs to be submitted no later than Saturday 28th January so we can arrange the running order. Open to students of the Phillomena or Amareece School of Dance only & candidates must be 8 years of age by the show dates.
The dates for the final performance at the Harlequin in Redhill are: Thursday 19th, Friday 20th & Saturday 21st July 2012. This is a week later than usual to try & avoid clashing with school events such as trips & proms.
Pink Ladies
Congratulations to our Pink Ladies Competition squads who competed in the "Future Cheer" Winter Wonderland Dance & Cheer Championships in Crystal palace on December 3rd & 4th. We were awarded the following places:
Senior Cheer = 4th Youth Dance = 2nd
Junior Cheer = 7th Junior Dance = 2nd
End of Term & Open Day
Due to it being "ShowTime" year the only classes that will definitely have open days at the end of this term will be the baby ballet & tap classes & rosette classes. The individual teachers of all other classes will decide if an open day is appropriate - please ask your teacher nearer the time.
Still photos are allowed, video recorders including digital camera recorders & mobile phones are not permitted, unless all participants are under agreement that the class may be recorded.
